A lived and embodied artwork in the form of a legal name change, the work has been materialised in the form of a blue plaque, a family portrait, and a Deed Poll certificate. The work investigates the connections between my name change on 22 March 2024, and a family narrative of deception and dishonesty, spanning over one hundred years. The work is an intervention into a common wartime practice of naming new-borns after battles where close relatives (often fathers) fought and in many cases died in. The central thread running through the story connecting the multiple generations and characters is the name, battle, and place of Mons, Belgium. ​
